MUMBAI: In an effort to speed up the multiple Metro projects in the city, the cash-strapped Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has sought 10% of the funds required for the works from the union government and 25% from the BMC.
MMRDA is facing a funds crunch considering the enormous amount of infrastructure spend projected for this decade.
The cumulative cost of 10 Metro projects, excluding Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) and Metro 1 (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar), is Rs 75,000 crore.
