On October 1, 2015, the government has issued National Offshore Wind Energy Policy clearly defining the role that each & every ministry and department has to play while granting approvals at various stages of the project. The policy allows setting up of offshore wind power projects and research & development activities, in waters, in or adjacent to the country up to the seaward distance of 200 nautical miles from the base line.
