Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma has directed the UP Power Corporation Limited to cut down the transmission and distribution losses. He has fixed a target to reduce the line losses to 15 per cent in 60 feeders in every district every month.
The minister, while reviewing the performance of the UPPCL here on Wednesday, said that every district had been directed to bring down the loss of at least 60 feeders below15 per cent. Of these identified 60 feeders, half will be given to the discom officials and half to the power vigilance department to monitor them.
Sharma said the government had already announced that those feeders which had less than 15 per cent line loss would be eligible for 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply.
