The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been telling his ministries to follow the principle of minimum government, maximum governance. But, unfortunately the message has not trickled down to the bureaucracy.
National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), as a lead player, in association with Central Institute of mining and fuel Research (CIMFR) and Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Ltd (CMPDI), are jointly working on the evaluation of Shale Gas project in Damodar basin. However, the project is unable to move further as one of the major activities of taking up the 3D seismic surveys in identified project sites is yet to be taken up by NGRI. Based on this survey other activities like drilling of slim-hole and related tests can be conducted.
