MUMBAI: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis told the assembly on Friday that the government was considering taking back five airports leased to the finacially distressed Anil Ambani group for their development.
Airports in Baramati, Nanded, Osmanabad, Latur and Yavatmal were leased to the group in 2008-09.
“However, they did not maintain the airports nor pay the statutory dues. We will consult the state advocate general and see if we can take charge of the airports by paying the dues and retrieving them later from the company,” said Fadnavis.
