MUMBAI: Wearing a face mask is mandatory at airports and on aboard flights, reiterated the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a note issued to stakeholders on Wednesday.
“Masks can be removed under exceptional circumstances and for permitted reasons only,” the DGCA note said, implying that masks can removed for meals, drinks.
The regulator ordered airlines and airports to ensure strict compliance. Passengers refusing to mask up should be de-boarded before flight departure, said the DGCA note. Those on board refusing to comply will be treated as an “unruly passenger” .
