Maruti Suzuki India is working on a significant transformation, aiming to transition away from traditional gasoline internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by 2030-31, reported ET Auto on Wednesday. The company’s current portfolio is predominantly gasoline-based, but this paradigm is set to shift drastically in the coming years.
By the turn of the decade, Maruti Suzuki plans to offer a diverse range of eco-friendly vehicles. While it will introduce Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), these will be complemented by a mix of other clean fuel options. This strategy includes strong hybrids, flex-fuel technology vehicles, those operating on compressed natural gas (CNG), and even compressed biogas (CBG).
