The Delhi Police has arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly making a hoax call on August 8 saying his wife was planning to trigger a bomb at the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Interrogation revealed that she was was going abroad for green pastures and in order to stop her from leaving the country, he had intentionally made the call to the IGI authorities.
The accused has been identified as Nasruddin, a tailor, from Bihar’s Sitamarhi district. He has been living in Chennai for the last 10 years.
According to Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, on August 8, at around 9 PM, the Control Room of the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), based in Gurugram, received a call claiming that one passenger, named Zabina alias Rafiya, is a “fidayeen” member and was on her way to set off the bomb at the airport.
