The portion of the Mall road, which has faced damages twice in the past, caved in for the third time during heavy rain on Thursday night. The pit this time is relatively small. A leakage in storm sewer line has been reported once again. Officials of the PWD and the Municipal Corporation reached the spot in the morning and initiated the repair work.
Inderjit Singh, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, said a small portion of the road got washed away as the retaining wall was missing. “We have repaired it,” he said. Anurag Mahajan, Superintending Engineer, Operation and Maintenance, MC, denied to comment on it.
