The state government’s decision to promote solar energy in the agriculture sector will attract investments worth Rs 30,000 crore and generate employment opportunities in phases and on a large scale, said independent director of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and BJP spokesperson Vishwas Pathak on Wednesday.
Pathak added that under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna – 2.0, the state government has decided to generate 7,000 megawatt power which will prove to be a gamechanger for the farmers and the agriculture sector.
Pathak was addressing the media at the BJP headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday. He said, “Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the Power portfolio, has given his nod to Solar Power Mission 2025.
