MUMBAI: The MSEDCL detected power theft to the tune of Rs 1.8 crore in November.
A drive conducted by chief engineer Suresh Ganeshkar in Thane, Vashi and Pen areas led to nabbing of 728 consumers involved in power thefts and more than 9 lakh units of electricity was found to be pilfered.
The MSEDCL will continue the drive this month and has appealed to power users to refrain from taking illegal connections.
