MUMBAI: The number of industrial consumers of state power utility MSEDCL has increased by 2193, indicating that industries were willing to stay in Maharashtra due to “reliability and affordability of power”, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Sources said that the government was keen on ensuring that industries do not shift to neighbouring states “in search of cheaper and reliable power supply”.
MSEDCL managing director Vijay Singhal said, “We have seen a rise in consumers opting for industrial connections. This has led to an increase in supply to 4101 million units on an average every month”.
