LUCKNOW: A wailing child at daybreak is nobody’s delight. But Shwetark Shukla (four) saved the lives of his grandparents who were travelling on the ill-fated train to Madurai on Sunday. His wails woke up her grandmother Rekha (53), who woke up her husband Anand Prakash Tripathi (57). When the tragedy struck, they were alert, reports Pathikrit Chakraborty. “All windows and doors were locked and had we stayed for a couple of more seconds inside the train, we would not have been alive today,” Rekha said.
Similarly, a phone call from home saved Hardoi resident Ram Kishore Awasthi.
