Mumbai: Shares of Larsen & Toubro have outperformed the broader market and gained almost 40% in the third quarter of 2020-21 so far as the engineering major continues to buck the sectoral trend by picking up orders.
On Monday, L&T shares rose 5% to Rs 1,249.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after it announced winning orders worth Rs 1,000 crore -Rs 2,500 crore. Prior to that, ET exclusively reported on Saturday that the company has emerged the lowest bidder for orders worth Rs 5,500 crore from Nuclear Power Corporation of India NSE -1.34 %, Chennai Metro Rail and energy major ONGC NSE -1.58 %.
