Kolkata: The Federation of LPG Distributors of India (FLDI) has written to petroleum minister Hardip Puri seeking price protection against the recent price cut of Rs 200 in each cylinder, as announced by the Union government.
“We are fully aligned with the government’s intention to support LPG consumers in the country. However, we wish to express our concerns regarding the potential adverse impact this reduction may have on the business operations and profitability of LPG distributors,” FLDI has stated.
“This reduction has caught distributors off-guard, as they find themselves with warehouses fully stocked and enroute-filled cylinder truckloads, resulting in substantial financial losses that were not anticipated,” it added.
