New Delhi: Reliance-BP and Nayara Energy have nearly tripled their share of the country’s diesel sales to 9.4% in June from a year earlier, using price discounts to regain domestic customers they had lost last year while focusing on the high-margin export market.
RIL-BP’s share in total diesel sales rose to 4% in June from 1.2% in the same month a year earlier. Rosneft-backed Nayara Energy’s share has expanded to 5.4% from 2%. Shell’s share remained stagnant at 0.1%.
