Kolkata: A 30-year-old plumber, who came in contact with a low-hanging high-tension wire carrying 220 KV power to the Kasba sub-station, was severely injured. The incident, reported from Martinpara in Anandapur, off EM Bypass, has highlighted the threat that high-tension lines passing barely 30ft above the ground pose to multi-storey houses.
According to locals, the victim Nazibul Sk, of Jibantala in South 24 Parganas, had been called for repairs at the terrace of a two-storey building that has the high-tension power line running above it.
