NEW DELHI: Despite being the highest priority expressway network in India, the Bangalore-Chennai Expressway is still waiting to see the light of day. Although the central government is focussed towards making world-class expressways but delayed work on such crucial projects may mar the prospects of investments along this corridor. The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India has submitted their proposition to implement the Bangalore–Chennai Expressway project as early as February 2011. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had conducted a study with the target completion till end of March, 2012.
It is reported that land acquisition for the Bangalore-Chennai Expressway has been completed but nobody knows when the work on this long delayed project will start.
