The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) granted approval for the commencement of services on the Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch of Kolkata Metro’s Orange Line, according to an official announcement on Thursday (February 8).
The mandatory inspection, conducted by CCRS Janak Kumar Garg on Wednesday, resulted in the authorisation for passenger traffic services between Kavi Subhash and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stations of the Orange Line.
Commercial services on 5.4-km segment of Orange Line
The Kolkata Metro will notify the Railway Board of the received authorisation, and upon their approval, commercial services will begin on this 5.4-km segment, which is part of the ongoing 32-km Kavi Subhash-NSCBI Airport route, also known as the Orange Line.
