CHENNAI: By the end of 2024, a railway station that can accommodate a 12-coach train may be set up in Kilambakkam to improve connectivity to the yet-to-be-opened Kalaignar Karunanidhi Bus terminus.
Southern Railway has submitted the draft station design to the Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (Cumta) for integrating proposed skywalk design into it.
According to I Jayakumar, CUMTA special officer, there will be three platforms of 320-metre length at the station. It can accommodate a 12-bogie suburban train. Cumta officials are trying to integrate the skywalk design with that of the station.
