Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) on Saturday said that Kashmir economy is on decline due to frequent national highway closures and regulations on the movement of transport due to security reasons.
“The Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the only operational road link of Kashmir to the rest of the world, is either closed or regulated for security reason and the movement of goods and passengers is not among the priorities of government,” said FCIK president Mohammad Ashraf Mir in a statement.
He said the economy of Kashmir is on the decline thanks to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
