BENGALURU: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday said his government has rejected two railway lines- Kanhangad-Kaniyur and Thalissery-Mysuru- proposed by his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan saying the proposed lines would affect the eco-sensitive zones in the state besides not being beneficial to Karnataka.
Karnataka also rejected Kerala’s request to increase the night buses through Bandipur national park from two to four and the proposal to develop an alternative alignment to the national highway NH 73 that links Mangaluru to Tumkur.
“Vijyan met me for bilateral talks as it was decided during the Southern Council meeting recently held in Thiruvananthapuram.
