Keeping in view the interest of students and farmers, five electricity supply companies (ESCOMS — BESCOM, MESCOM, HESCOM, GESCOM and CESC Mysore) will ensure that there is no load-shedding in Karnataka for the next three months.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the ESCOMs on Monday. It was headed by BESCOM MD Mahantesh Bilagi, who is also the power-trading committee chairman for all the ESCOMs, and attended by the managing directors of all the ESCOMs.
With the commencement of SSLC and PUC exams, power demand is at its peak during the summer.
