Bengaluru: Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-Ride) has proposed to extend the Bengaluru suburban rail project for a total length of 452km to link the state capital with Kolar, Tumakuru, Mysuru, Bangarpet, Hosur and Gauribidanur.
Infrastructure development minister MB Patil said the railway ministry has been approached to conduct the pre-feasibility study. In Phase I, K-Ride is building a 148-km network on four corridors: KSR Bengaluru City to Devanahalli, Byappanahalli to Chikkabanavara, Kengeri to Whitefield and Heelalige to Rajanukunte. K-Ride is a JV established by Karnataka government (51% share) and railway ministry (49%).
