BENGALURU: The Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-Ride) has proposed to extend the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) for a total length of 452km to link the state capital with nearby cities and towns such as Kolar, Tumakuru, Mysuru, Bangarpet, Hosur and Gauribidanur.
Infrastructure development minister MB Patil said the Ministry of Railways has been approached to conduct the pre-feasibility study.
In Phase I of the project, K-Ride is building a 148-km network on four corridors: KSR Bengaluru City to Devanahalli (corridor 1- 41.4km), Byappanahalli to Chikkabanavara (corridor 2-25km), Kengeri to Whitefield (corridor 3-25km) and Heelalige to Rajanukunte (corridor 4- 46.3km).
