Coming merely days after the deadly Odisha crash, a case of a close shave has underlined the recurring risk associated with railway operations in India.
According to reports, the Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express had a narrow escape on June 6 when it almost crashed into a tractor carrying barrels of diesel. The case was reported from the vicinity of Santaldih station, in West Bengal’s Purulia district.
The train, which was going from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar, was at a high speed, Santaldih station not being a scheduled stop, news agency IANS reported.
