JSW Energy NSE -2.43 % net profit declined 68% year on year to Rs 124 crore in the third quarter of 2020-21, due to the combined effect of a higher base a year ago boosted by a one-off gain and lower merchant power sales in the quarter.
The company’s total revenue decreased by 18% year-on-year to Rs 1,659 crore as price and volume of short term sales decreased and the company also started billing group entities for captive power generation on “job work” basis, where they supplied the coal and JSW Energy charged them only the fixed cost for generating power.
