NEW DELHI: The Boeing 737 (VT-SXE) used to conduct proving flights by Jet-II Airways on May 15 and 17, 2022, has now been leased by SpiceJet. The almost 17-year-old aircraft flew with Jet Airways in 2007 — then in its prime — for over a decade. After Jet collapsed in April 2019, the aircraft was among the several others leased by SpiceJet.
It was leased by Jet-II when there a ray of hope for its revival in 2022 and based on the successful proving flights in May that year, Jet’s licence was revived — however, to no avail as there are no signs of the airline taking off again.
A SpiceJet official said: “We have leased the Boeing 737 (VT-SXE) again. This is on dry lease and will be operated by us.
