Raising slogans like ‘Save Jet Airways’, ‘Save our families’, ‘Hear our Cry, Let 9W fly’, aggrieved staff of the cash-strapped Jet Airways appealed to the Union government and other stakeholders to keep the airlines afloat.
The staff of the airlines, many of them in uniform, gathered in front of the Town Hall on Monday to raise their concerns.
Roopa Sreeram, manager of customer services in the airline, said: “The staff has a lot of commitments and the academic year is going to begin. School and college fees are to be paid, rent and EMIs are pending. All that we are asking for is resumption of operations. A firm decision has to be taken by the stakeholders concerned in the interest of the employees.”
