NEW DELHI: The crisis at Jet Airways is now snowballing rapidly. The airline on Thursday informed BSE that “an additional six aircraft have been grounded due to non-payment of amounts outstanding to lessors under their respective lease agreements.”
On Wednesday, it had told BSE that seven more aircraft were grounded for the same reason. Last Saturday, it had told BSE that it had grounded “an additional two aircraft” over non-payment. And on February 7, it had said four planes were grounded. In all, 19 Jet planes have been grounded this month alone.
Despite repeated attempts, neither Jet nor regulator DGCA have revealed how many aircraft and daily flights Jet is actually operating currently.
