The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan government, which has nominated the Japan High-Speed Rail Electric Engineering Co. Ltd for the execution of the core Shinkansen technologies work related to the safety and punctuality of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train network.
The Japanese company will carry out work related to operation control centre, design contract, production and construction contracts and PMC contracts for the E1 package for the bullet train corridor, ensuring the same level of safety and quality of the Shinkansen, a bullet train network in Japan, in line with practices followed in that country and speed up the work, the nodal agency said.
