AHMEDABAD: Going to Dubai on Janmashtami weekend will be way cheaper than going to Goa, Dehradun, or Kochi. With Janmashtami falling on September 7, a Thursday, many Amdavadis who have an off on a second Saturday are planning to take leave on September 8 and enjoy a mini vacation. This clearly reflects in the air fares going skywards.
Compared to air fares booked around 12 days in advance, flight tickets for these three destinations have become 75-150% more expensive. Despite air fares remaining at least 40% higher for key tourist destinations, last-minute inquiries for trips continue to pour in.
