Similar to the lines of Mount Road in Chennai and Nandan Kanan Road in Bhubaneshwar, Jamshedpur will also get its ‘Iconic Road’. Initial plans are being made to strengthen the East-West Corridor. City’s civic provider company Tata Steel UISL (erstwhile JUSCO) is working on a plan to develop a road that will connect Baridih-Agrico Roundabout to Sakchi to Straight Mile Road to Dhatkidih to Kadma Market.
Addressing a virtual press meet on Saturday, Tarun Daga, managing director, Tata Steel UISL, said: “ We need to share a thought that may be a vision for all stakeholders to pursue. Every major city is built around a main arterial road which becomes iconic and part of history for example, the Mount Road in Chennai, the Nandan Kanan Road in Bhubaneshwar.
