MUMBAI: A five-member high-level committee appointed in the wake of the shooting on the Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express has submitted its report to the railway board, sources said.
The committee was appointed by the railway board to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the incident as well as departmental lapses, if any, and fix them. On July 31, RPF constable Chetan Singh had gunned down four people, including his own senior, ASI Tikaram Meena, on the train.
A key recommendation is to bring systematic changes in the current system to include assessment of RPF personnel’s mental health too.
