The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has invited bids for the empanelment of resource assessment agencies for wind and solar technologies.
The last date for the submission of bids is April 29, 2019. Technical bids will open on April 30, 2019, and financial bids will open on May 21, 2019. The final list for empanelment of resource assessment agencies will be declared on June 11, 2019.
Last year in March, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) had also issued a tender for the empanelment or re-empanelment of eligible entities as Energy Service Company.
To qualify for this bidding, the average annual financial turnover of a bidder for the past three financial years should not be less than ₹2.5 million (~$0.04 million).
A bidder should also have completed at least five assignments in the last three financial years as resource assessment agency for wind or solar power projects (depending on the application).
The broad scope of work for solar power projects includes the site-specific assessment of the suitability of the site and project design for setting up of the solar project, site-specific validation of solar energy yield estimates, module degradation, performance ratio, loss diagram, etc.
Similarly, for wind power projects, the broad scope of work includes the site-specific assessment of wind energy estimation, adequacy of proposed WTG locations, degradation factor and losses likely to be observed for the project, etc.
In September 2018, IREDA posted its gross income worth ₹17.8 billion (~$0.24 billion) in the financial year (FY) 2017-18. This was an approximate growth of 20 percent over the previous FY’s gross income of ₹14.82 billion (~$0.20 billion).
In February 2018, it also received a green signal from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for the launch of its Initial Public Offering.
