MUMBAI: Even as Vande Bharat train will be flagged off on September 30, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has raised concerns about the poor maintenance of Tejas rake which is deployed on the same Mumbai-Ahmedabad sector.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Gandhinagar. However, IRCTC has in the recent past written multiple letters to railway board as well as Western Railway to point out that the quality of the rake has deteriorated due to poor maintenance practice.
Source said, “The exterior as well as interior of the rake does not look premium as it used to be before pandemic. IRCTC feel this may affect the patronage in the future.”
