The government is working on the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) under which it would reward states for improving efficiency in metering & collection besides reducing transmission losses. Under the scheme, the distribution networks in the urban areas would also be improved. Broad highlights of the scheme are reproduced herein for our readers.
