Amritsar: Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu on Tuesday inaugurated the work of installing LED lights at Nehru Shopping Complex on Lawrence Road in Ward No.10 under the Smart City Project here. The Mayor said under the project 66,000 LED lights would be installed at a cost of Rs 48 crore. In most of the wards the work was almost completed. On Tuesday, the work of installing lights was started in Ward Number 10 areas including Civil Lines, Lawrence Road, Joshi Colony, Garden Colony and Beauty Avenue. The Mayor said the aim of the Congress government was to develop every area in the city and no area should be deprived of development. In the same vein, new LED lights of modern technology have been introduced in the Ward number 10. The work of installing lights has been started. Councillor Sameer Dutta, Rajinder Maharana, Vinod Sharma, Dhiran Nair, Yashpal Dhawan, Rishi Dhawan, Ajay Dilawari of the Municipal Corporation and Mahesh Kumar(JE) were among the prominent persons present on the occasion.
