India and Bangladesh have an intense relation with bilateral mechanisms in the spheres of Security & Border Management, Trade and Commerce, Power, Energy, Shipping, Railways. More pacts in these spheres are expected during the forthcoming visit of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina to Delhi in April. Sheikh Hasina will be in Delhi at the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who had visited Dhaka in June 2015. Dr S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary of India was on a two-day visit (Feb 23-24, 2017) to Bangladesh to review the implementation of decisions taken during Mr Modi’s visit and also to prep for Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Delhi.
