NEW DELHI: The strained relationship between the two co-founders – Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia – was the clear undertone at the IndiGo AGM held on Tuesday, even as airline management said it is looking at inducting widebody aircraft for international flights. Gangwal stayed away from the AGM, what was earlier expected to be a stormy affair. The meeting went off smoothly after Gangwal last Friday signalled approval of changes proposed by the airline. The AGM saw Bhatia use his sense of humour to answer queries from shareholders that directly or indirectly referred to the feud between the promoters.
Asked why Gangwal and another board member (Anupam Khanna, who had earlier sided with Gangwal) were not present at the meeting, Bhatia said, ” main hoon na.”
Among those on the dais were IndiGo chairman of the board M Damodaran, non-executive director Rohini Bhatia and CEO Ronojoy Dutta.
