India’s market leader IndiGo has got approval from DGCA to induct up to 11 Airbus A320 aircraft. The aircraft are to be acquired for a period of six months, the airline said, adding that it aims to start taking delivery of these wet lease planes and the first aircraft will arrive as early as November so that it can be deployed for the winter holiday season.
The lease became necessary as as several Airbus A320 Neo aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engines, are being grounded for safety reasons.
