NEW DELHI: An IndiGo aircraft on take off roll from Bhopal to Mumbai Monday evening rejected take off after the pilot reportedly heard a big noise. He switched off both the engines and the aircraft, which was rolling at about 80 knots at that time, safely came to a stop on the runway.
The Airbus A320 (not Neo) was then towed back to the terminal where it was thoroughly checked.
The airline confirmed the rejected take off of 6E-983. “The same aircraft has now taken off for Mumbai,” said an IndiGo spokesperson.
Sources say the pilots heard some noise during take off roll and they switched off the engine. The aircraft had a technical issue, possibly a tyre burst. Once that was attended too, the same plane took off for Mumbai.
