During the April-June period, India’s power generating firms imported 92.07 lakh tonnes of coal, according to the Union Power Ministry.
On Thursday, in a written response to the Lok Sabha, Union Power Minister RK Singh informed the House that the Ministry had advised all gencos to complete placement of awards for import of coal before May 31, 2022, to avoid trouble before the onset of the monsoon season.
