NEW DELHI: India visas of foreign nationals travelling from China are no longer valid. And anyone — Indians or foreign nationals after getting Indian visas on fresh application — returning from China will be quarantined.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday issued a circular to all Indian and foreign airlines operating flights to and from India after this “new visa advisory for travellers from China” was issued “in view of the evolving” coronavirus situation. A senior DGCA official said these orders are valid for Hong Kong as well.
With India doing its best to prevent coronavirus spreading to the country, flights between India and China could get significantly impacted from Thursday. Among Chinese carriers, Shandong Airlines and Air China have suspended their flights to India and China Southern has reduced flights, said an official.
