Indian government has nothing to do with the market purchases of Russian crude oil by the Indian oil companies, India has clarified. Responding to a question on the issue at a media briefing during Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meet, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra today categorically said Indian entities make the purchase from the market to respond to the country’s energy security requirement.
