India is now the third biggest buyer of aeroplanes after the US and China, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced while inaugurating the Wings India event in Hyderabad on January 18.
At the event, the minister also unveiled the Air India Airbus A350.
Scindia gave an overview of the orders placed by Indian aviation companies so far, both with Boeing and Airbus. IndiGo, Air India, and the recently launched Akasa airline have made substantial aircraft orders, he said.
