Seven persons of an equipment supply company were arrested by police here on Wednesday for illegal transportation of costly coking coal from the Paradip Port’s prohibited area. In this connection, the port authorities were conducting an in-house enquiry. In the meantime, on receipt of a complaint, a case was registered at the Paradip Model Police station flowing which police started investigation. According to Paradip Model PS IIC Rajanikant Mishra, during investigation, it was found that the accused persons of IN Machinery were involved in illegal transportation of coking coal by forging documents of a stevedoring company, Trishakti Shipping. All accused persons were forwarded to court.
