NEW DELHI: Indraprastha Gas Ltd on Monday shuttered 90% of its CNG filling stations across Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) as demand for the fuel crashed due to the lockdown imposed by the Arvind Kejriwal government and admnistrations in neighbouring districts of UP and Haryana.
The company said only 55 of its 520 CNG stations will remain operational during the lockdown period till March 31 to meet limited demand from emergency and essential services vehicles. Delhi will have 44 operational stations, Ghaziabad 5, Noida 3, Greater Noida 2 and Gurugram 1.
The company said piped natural gas (PNG) service, including complaints and emergency response numbers, will remain operational but no new connection will be issued during the lockdown period. Area control rooms will continue to attend 24X7 complaints received through customer care or digital modes such as e-mail, website or IGL Connect mobile app.
