The demand (buy bids) for power in the spot market at Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) in 2016 was 46,716 million units (MUs) out of which 39,133 MUs were cleared. Total sell bids that were available in 2016 was 73,960 MUs. This means the market remained highly liquid and thus the prices were buyer friendly.
