NEW DELHI: The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fared “best till date” under an audit of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) that concluded on Wednesday (Nov 16. The UN’s aviation arm had conducted the audit or “coordinated validation mission” — Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach — in India from November 9 to 16, 2022.
This audit was conducted in the areas of legislation, organisation, personal licensing, operations, airworthiness and aerodromes.
“As per initial reports, the mission was highly successful. India has done extremely well and our scores will see a substantial improvement putting us in the company of nations with best safety standards and oversight systems.
